APAC/SG, 9 DECEMBER 2024 - TinderⓇ, the dating app that revolutionized how people meet, has put an IRL spin on its Passport™ Mode through an experiential activation connecting people from two major cities in Asia. Streamed first between Thailand and Vietnam ‘Tinder Passport: Teleport to Another City’ introduces a real-time Tinder Passport™ portal livestreaming between Bangkok’s Siam Square and Ho Chi Minh’s Landmark 81 from 6 to 8 December, offering a fresh and innovative way to make new connections.
Young singles in Asia Pacific are increasingly redefining relationship boundaries, with a significant 67% willing to start relationships with someone living in a different country1. This openness to explore relationships with people from various walks of life underscores Gen Z’s inclusive and expansive approach to love and companionship in an increasingly interconnected world. Beyond the long term, 87% of young singles in Asia Pacific express an interest in making friends before they travel to their holiday spots1. Tinder’s Solo Traveler’s Guide to Tinder Passport™ offers useful advice to help young adults not only travel smart and safe, but also make new connections as part of their globetrotting adventures.
“Tinder is all about sparking new connections and creating meaningful experiences, and our latest experiential activation takes that mission to the next level. By connecting two vibrant cities in Asia, we're giving people a unique opportunity to break the ice, meet new people, and explore the potential for real-life connections across borders similar to our Passport™ feature in the Tinder app. Whether it's finding a new friend, travel buddy, or something more, Tinder and this campaign is designed to be a fun and innovative experience on bringing people together,” says Daniel Kim, VP APAC Marketing, Tinder.
Tinder Passport™ makes it fun and simple for users to meet new people in a different city. To activate Passport™ Mode, users can go into their settings, select a destination by city or by dropping a pin on the map to change their location. From there, they can start browsing profiles, liking, matching, and chatting with users from a different city.
